Finally a restaurant with Indonesian disches, in the area. Toka is a family owned business, and they are super nice. The restaurant is pretty populair and due to its size quickly filled. If you have a large group, I recommend to reserve. The dishes we ordered were on point: Tempe Goreng, Toka Ayam Goreng (spicy), Acar, Beef Rendang, and the chicken wings. Definitely a place to return to, and try some of the other dishes. I wish the menu had some other Indonesian dishes, but I can't complain, we got one in CT." at least. Paid parking is next door, if you can't find parking on the street.

Service was great -- they did a great job helping us surprise our friend (played music which was a little embarrassing for us because everyone looked but we loved their commitment). Ordered the beef behoon goreng, it tasted pretty good, could use a little spice kick.

Fantastic Indonesian/Malaysian cuisine, can't wait to have their food again soon! Beef Rendang, I keep thinking about...

Super yummy. Went here with my family and we got edamame, hibachi steak, and two servings of the mee noodles with beef (pictured) and chicken. Small interior but cozy, service may be a little slow but it was worth it for the delicious food!

We were very excited to try this place because of the Indonesian food options on the menu. We had the tempeh, bihun goreng and ayam goreng. And finished up with the pisang goreng! Everything was excellent - really true to Indonesian taste and flavors. We plan to try the rendang next time. And once winter hits, the sop buntut. We did not order anything from the menu that was non-Indonesian so can't say how the overall experience is - but highly recommended for those pining for Indonesian cuisine. Excellent service as well and a very pleasant modern interior.

This was our first time here, and it did not disappoint. Service was friendly and ambience at the restaurant was great. Waitress confirmed that all meat is halal. We started with the wok charred edamame and Toka chicken wings. Both were great; would definitely order the chicken wings again. For entrees, we had the beef mee goreng (egg noodles) and toka ayem goreng (not pictured). Portion sizes were generous and dishes were flavorful. Only critique is that the menu was vague and we did not know the chicken dish was not boneless. Overall great experience and will visit again soon.

Great little mom and pop restaurant serving a wide array of Asian dishes with a focus on Indonesian cuisine. The owners are really friendly and from Indonesia, bringing authentic flavors to New Haven. I ordered a tempe goreng, beef rendang and finished with a pisano goreng for dessert. The tempe was well cooked with a tasty spicy soy sauce to go with it. The beef was really tender, flavorful with spices and complemented by the soft but not mushy potatoes and crunchy pickled root veggies. I do wish that the beef was not in a huge chunk but broken into smaller ones to soak up the sauce better. Finally, the pisano goreng was a great way to end the meal with some ice cream and fried banana with chocolate sprinkles. Food: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Serve: 5/5Beef RendangPisang Goreng
